This is an art project hosted by students and professors at Aarhus University in Denmark. However, we understand and appreciate the concerns of giving personal information on the internet

The Museum of Random Memory is an artistic project to question and critically analyze the way information and personal data is stored, archived, and used to create future memories. We have your greatest privacy and data protection in mind. Be assured we will not give any of your image or text to third parties or show it for commercial purposes.

Still, we also provide these terms of use, so you are aware of the general ways your information and participation is held and used by us as part of normal website operations.

Terms of Use
By accessing and using, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. In addition, when using Museum of Random Memory’s particular services, you shall be subjected to any posed guidelines or rules applicable to such services, which may be posted and modified from time to time.
All such guidelines or rules are hereby incorporated by reference into the TOU.


This site and its components are offered for informational purposes only; this site shall not be responsible or liable for the accuracy, usefulness or availability of any information transmitted or made available via the site, and shall not be responsible or liable for any error or omissions in that information.


Personal content and usage of material  

Museum of random memory’s website will collect and exhibit random memories from pictures and texts people are donating to the website. By accepting the Terms of Use you give us permission to use the pictures and the text that might include personal images and stories. We are planning to use these memories for two reasons: to gather material we can use to study the perceptions and attitudes of memories, and to build a playful way for people engage and rethink memory-making practices in a digitally saturated world.

The resulting website may include these pictures along with the descriptive text which can contain personal information.


We ask you to read the following Terms of Use before giving your consent. We will adhere to the highest standard of ethical guidelines and best practices codes of conduct as we consider using the material you provide.


  1. I understand that the MoRM-group will collect and use my contribution for publicity and research purposes related to the memory making, social media and other data.


  1. For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I hereby grant to you and to your agents, successors, licensees and assign all rights in perpetuity to use, record and reproduce my contribution and information about me, in connection with the production, exhibition, distribution, transmission, promotion, advertising and display the materials contributed to the MoRM-group, any part or parts thereof and all ancillary and subsidiary rights therero by and in any and all devices, systems and media now or hereafter known.


  1. I agree that the materials donated to MoRM and their designated representatives are for the purposes of artistic and scholarly research and therefore you shall have the right to edit, modify, or otherwise alter all such reproductions at the representatives’ sole discretion.


  1. I agree that I shall not own any right, title, or interest in or to the materials or in the results and proceeds of the rights granted herein. I understand that you shall have no obligation to complete, exhibit, distribute or exploit the materials or to make use of any rights granted herein.


  1. I hereby hold harmless, release and discharge you and your employees, agents, licensees, successors and assign form any and all claims, demands or causes of action that I may now have or may have in the future arising out of or in connection with the rights granted herein, including, without limitation, any claims for libel, defamation, invasion of privacy or right of publicity or infringement of copyright.


  1. I understand that I will receive no remuneration of any kind of connection with materials donated and the subsequent use, distribution, exchange of, or display of the materials.


  1. I understand that you are conducting such activities in express reliance upon the foregoing and I represent and agree that I am free to grant the rights herein.


Server Considerations

Museum of Random Memory cannot be held responsible for failure to operate a secure server that stores personal information.

Museum of Random Memory must permit limited  third party service providers such as website maintenance or hosting service provides to have access to the server, but we assure you, these third party services are not permitted to collect or distribute the information stored for advertising purposes.
